Hunger drives the wolf out of the wood (Spetsnazs)

 Every army have a few units in the game that others envy. This one in our army is Spetznasz. Terror hidden in camouflage. They are known for killing things and leave no body for your opponent that they can heal later.


Maybe there is no need to write a selling pitch about them. But i cant say a blog on TAK is fullfilled without one. So i need to investigate them in detail for you.


Spetsnazs are fantastic units and one of the best soft target killers in the game. Anyways, lets dont get fast and check the profiles first.

CC21 with martial arts level2. So they are fine with closecombat with AP CCW. They have BS(shock) with marksmanship on all profiles above. Mimetism -3 too. 

Two types of profiles we have. The ones with strong deadly weapons, which are based on our deployment zone and the ones with parachutist ability. We need to investigate these seperately.

Terminator Spetsnaz with HMG attacks with 4 burst BS15 in good range, since he cancels any cover bonus with marksmanship. When ever this unit attacks, it aplies extra negative bonuses to opponent. Suprise shot,Cover and Mimetism. Negative -9 bonus while the opponent unit cant gain any cover against Spetsnazs is a disaster for the opponent. Aleph Dakini hmg in a link which is buffed with probot seems slightly better then Spetsnaz at first. But a Spetsnaz also applies a suprise factor to rolls that opponent rolls.

This abilities combined make the spetsnaz hmg a fantastic killer. But unfortunetly we cant say the same for the sniper variant. Sniper has half the burst and we cant say that a sniper can work in opponents' turn at all. Spetsnaz is rather weak in defence and you must protect him carefully. On this section, we can say that hmg variant is the king.

Main attacking method with him is to show yourself on the edge and return back to where he started his movement and asking the opponent if he has any ARO. We do this cause of 2 things. Firstly, If opponent delays, we attack and even if we are harmed in the process, staying still in cover to get a help later. Second if we succesfully get rid of the unit ,which we wanted to kill, we can recamo again safely if we prefer.


Parachutists are different story. They aproach opponent and start bombing and killing things. D-charges on these units make them good CC killers. Boarding shotgun gives us a template weapon option however ApRifle with 3 burst is cool in hands of a killer with marksmanship. Both profiles are nice with AP+shock hitting ammos they bring.

Grenades are one of the last things your opponent will want to face when they are this much closer to their own deployment zone. Ph12 is enough to throw our grenades with speculative fire in close range. Ph9 is not bad against opponents' dodge rolls with -3.

Dont forget that Spetsnaz has stealth and you can march till you arrive a Marut from his back with a dcharge suprise!

CONCLUSION

A bit better than perfect. HMG variant is one of the best units in the game. Parachutist options are very nice. Dirty killers with a chance to make some ITS classifieds too. Stay away from sniper trap, which is not efficient at all and enjoy to have warm blood of your opponent in hand.
