ANTIPODE ASSAULT PACK and TACTICS

 Ladies and gentleman. In todays' thread, we have the antipodes assault pack. One of the most interesting units in the game. Are they really good ? How can we use them in attack and in defence ? Lets check and see together.


Antipodes assault pack consist of one regular order ( master of big wolfies ) and 3 irregular orders (wolfies). For 27 points, you have this band, that CAN act together. Why did i say "can" ? Because of some reasons, that i will notify later, you would prefer to move only wolfies most of the time.

Anyways, here is our beautiful master. She can use a smoke grenade launcher, when needed. She can defend herself with a rifle. Basic stats, with a lovely skill. She brings tactical awareness for her babies.

Tactical awareness makes this band to have an extra order. Is it big ? Hell yes. Antipodes move 6-6 . They are damn fast already. Just only with their orders, they can move 24 inch. It means they can reach to opponents' side even with 1 order.

More over they have camouflage marker. It is easy for them to hide themselves. Imagine that they started moving with 6 inch, and opponents unit make a succesful wip check, you can still keep moving with the second part of the movement to reach a nice unseen spot. After then , you can recamo or use sensor skill later.

Spearhead

You need to choose a spearhead among one of the wolfies. This hero wolf is the guy to attack, to sensor or whatever. Other wolvies will idle when he makes something. However antipode handler lady can act with him if needed. Dont forget that if handler makes an attack, all camo tokens loose their marker state. They always need to be close to each other. If one of them leaves the coherency, suddenly you loose the control over that wolfie.

Important Skill Sensor

Dont forget that there is sensor on these units. So like a stempler zond in Nomads , you can reach to a nice position to sensor hidden units. These units are so fast, they can recamo and reach almost opponents' hidden snipers very easilly. So they can do this job even in opponents' side too. Sensor is very strong on units with nice close combat abilities.

Close Combat

These units have CC20 with ph15 with armor piercing razor claws ( AP CCW ). Doesnt seem very strong at first sight. However they can get in close combat together for better burst. When the Spearhead wolfie attacks with a help of other 2 wolfies, you can reach to 3 burst immediately. If you could keep your camo state too, you can attack with CC20 3 burst AP by help of -3 suprise attack penalty that you gave to opponents' unit.

You can eat easy targets easily. It is good against TAGS as well. AP hitting wolfies can win their duel against many HI ınfantries who doesnt have martial art skills.

Batard

Super-jump

Wolfies have superjump. They can jump and therefore reach to any spots. If they have the marker states on, opponent has nothing to do at all but to wait to defend against the attack.

Mimetism -3 and CAMO State

Camo state and mimetism help them alot. They are harder to be hit. Even they are revealed they keep mimetism-3 and most of the time they can win face to face rolls to hit with claws.

Standart rifle types in close range Bs11-12 against CC20. ( Most of the time with a help of more burst )

Antipodes in Defence

Antipodes start the game with 3 40mm camo markers. This alone makes them a nice road blocker. You can keep them as last mini in deployment and use it to block the way of an impersonater.

They dodge with extra 2 inches. This mobility cause them to reach any spot for your defence. You can hinder LOF. You can get in close combat. They can create difficulties

Antipodes have ph15 and it is nice value to overcome crazykoalas/madtraps and mines with dodge. They can clean the way for your link.

CONCLUSION

I like them alot. They are good in both attack and both defense. However, They are very order hungry and you need to spend orders on them ,to get good results. They compete with fantastic irmandinho, dog warriors and Carmen. 

Also nowadays, there are more units with great CC skills. Against martial arts and template weapons they need to be more careful. Hope to see you soon.
